What Else do Honeybees do Besides Make Honey?

While we all appreciate the delicious honey we get from bees, these insects provide humans with an invaluable service‚ÄĒpollination. Pollination is the fertilization of a flowering plant. It occurs when the pollen is transferred from the anther of a flower to the ovules of that or another flower.
Approximately one-third of the food we eat comes from insect-pollinated plants, and the honeybees are responsible for 80% of this pollination. Honeybees are responsible for pollinating a variety of fruits, vegetables and legumes that we enjoy eating.
