Tulip Poplar

Tulip Poplar

Harvested from our neighborhood grove of tulip poplar trees overlooking the Potomac River in Maryland, this rare honey is a rich, amber color that is mild in flavor. The tulip poplar is a magnificently tall tree producing delicate lemon-lime-colored flowers with an orange center. Native Americans used its timber for canoes and early American settlers used it for shipbuilding, paper mills and construction. Rich in antioxidants, this robust honey can serve as a sugar substitute in baking or as a sweetener in sauces for roasting meat or grilling fish.
